About CivicEngagement	English (USA)
YMCA Civic Engagement represents the collaborative effort of YMCAs and community organizations across the country to consciously promote and increase the development of civic engagement attitudes, skills, and behaviors in young people. This listserv is one part of our effort to build a network of connections among YMCAs and the community organizations with which they collaborate. It is subscriber facilitated and will serve to help sustain a process through which we can share resources and challenge each other to deepen our commitment to our work. Subscribers to the listserv are strongly encouraged to share any civic engagement materials and resources that can potentially leverage the work of others. Conversely, subscribers are encouraged to seek ways to incorporate the work of others into their own work around civic engagement. Any material and resources shared through the listserv will continue to be digested into an effective civic engagement curriculum and training program that not only disseminates best programs, projects, and practices to help YMCAs better engage young people but provides a framework for understanding that civic engagement is central to the YMCAs goal of creating strong communities.

To post a message to all the list members, send email to civicengagement@xenith.ymca.net. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to CivicEngagement
Subscribe to CivicEngagement by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
